Hanami - Delighting in the cherry blossoms

From the end of March, the cherry trees bloom in the Japanese Garden of the Botanical Garden. The hanami (花見, literally "flower-viewing") enjoying cherry blossoms and Japanese plum blossoms in spring, according to a traditional Japanese custom. Cherry blossoms sweep across Japan from the end of March to the beginning of May. Our event is related to this, where we want to bring this traditional holiday in Japan closer to the visitors.

Earth Day

Families are invited to a playful tour combined with stamp collecting. On this day, children and adults can playfully learn how to become active environmentally conscious people. Among those validating the ticket, we will draw gift packages for the Botanic Garden. The Botanical Garden is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Stamps can be collected from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You can also find handicraft exhibitors, plant sellers, and distributors of gastro products at the event. Our goal is to introduce products related to environmental protection, sustainability, and recycling to visitors.

Plants Day

We welcome all visitors to the SZTE Botanical Garden with another meaningful and diverse Family Day.

During the day, we will try to draw attention to plant diversity and the extraordinary importance of plants in human life with varied and interesting lectures and demonstrations.

You can also find handicraft exhibitors, plant sellers, and distributors of gastro products at the event. Our goal is to introduce visitors to nature conservation and the protection of biodiversity.

X. Lavender and Rose Days

During the two-day festival, spices and herbs that are good for both body and soul, lavender and rose, will be the protagonists. At informative presentations, you can learn about the natural possibilities of preserving our health; whether it's herbal medicinal teas, scented natural soaps, essential oils or syrups. We are also preparing high-quality cultural and musical concerts and entertaining children's performances. At the same time as the programs, colorful and fragrant rose-lavender handicrafts and a plant fair will help us to take special delicacies and memories with us in addition to the experience of the programs.

XVI. Lotus Days

True to our traditions, we timed the event for the last weekend of July, in line with the peak flowering of the Indian lotus. During the two-day festival this year, we want to conjure up a little Far Eastern atmosphere among the shady trees of the Botanical Garden.

Speaking of the Indian lotus, our guests can learn about many customs, music, dance, movement culture, food and drink rooted in Eastern culture and becoming more and more popular in the West today. And in addition to all this, due to the spirit of the place, of course the interesting plants of Asia cannot be left out.

Pumpkin Day - Family Day with pumpkin carving

For the tenth time this year, we are inviting families and interested parties to a Good Pumpkin Day, on which the popular delicacies of autumn, pumpkins, are the main characters. We offer meaningful and entertaining programs for both young and old.

There will be pumpkin carving, where everyone can carve their own unique Halloween pumpkin lantern outdoors. In the framework of an exhibition, our visitors can learn about the amazing variety of pumpkins: the huge Halloween pumpkins, the slender thief varieties and the countless small decorative pumpkins with a wealth of colors, patterns and shapes. They can learn how the large, hard-shelled gourds of pumpkins can be used in many ways and that pumpkins are also an important medicinal plant. Pumpkin seeds can prove their skills in very good games of skill! In addition to all this, we also welcome those interested with a fair of handicraft products and handicraft sessions.
